Description: In this junior version of our regular
musical theater class, students will work on group numbers from
Broadway shows, learning lyrics, music, choreography, and how to use
acting skills to tell the story behind a song. Students should wear
clothes and shoes that are easy to move in.

movement. Class will work with an accompanist, and material includes solos

will work on developing characters by using their bodies, voices, minds
and imaginations as they explore fairytales, nursery rhymes, and stories.
Story Book Alive! classes focus on Dramatic Art (voice and movement) and
Visual Art to help students develop their social skills and
self-confidence as well as encourage their individual creative minds in a
safe and enjoyable way. Through different fun-filled activities, students
will learn to work in an ensemble environment, communicate with one
another, and respect their peers.

students will deeply explore character development and scene work in an
ensemble environment. Through different exercises and theater games,
students will gain self confidence and stage presence as well as begin
building the frame work of an actor. This class will prepare students for
advanced acting.

Acting for the Camera II and/or Summer Arts Camp, or by

Class
Description: New and returning students welcome. Explore a
number of approaches to developing an interesting, believable character
for the stage. This class incorporates aspects of improv, voice, movement,
creative writing, research and analysis to help the actor create and
maintain a compelling character. Some outside homework will be required!
This class is helpful for the actor interested in creating specific
characters for plays and for maintaining a character for extended theater
runs or for a television series. This class is a prerequisite for Advanced
Character Workshop II, which will be offered in Winter/Spring 2009.

characters and bring them to life in this fast paced, spirited class. This
script-less form of acting allows actors to use their imaginations and
teamwork skills as they play through the situations their characters find
themselves in! Also great for building voice and movement skills, and
gaining confidence onstage.

Class
Description: New and returning students of all levels
welcome. This dynamic class introduces the student actor to basic
camera techniques that are applicable to both auditions and
working on a real television or film set. They will also learn basic lingo
associated with film work. Using material specifically chosen for each
actor according to experience and age level, students will perform
commercials, television hosting copy, as well as monologues and scenes
from TV shows and films. Students will receive a DVD of their
classwork.
